The objective of Level 6 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management qualification (accredited by Othm) is to equip learners with the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills required for a career in the health and social care sector at a managerial level.
The Diploma in Health and Social Care Management – Level 6 programme enables learners to demonstrate their skills by producing evidence from their work activities, to meet national occupational standards. Learners will acquire care management skills in the Health and Social Care sector.

Who is this Program For?
Working Professionals, Level 5 / Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree holders or learners who are looking for Career Progression and a formal undergraduate qualification leading to award of degrees in future.
Upon successful completion of the programme, you will also become eligible to gain direct entry into relevant Master's degree programme.
Open Entry. No formal qualification is required from mature learners (over 21 years) who have relevant management experience. For others, the learners should have relevant NQF / QCF / RQF Level 5 Diploma or equivalent recognised qualification. Please speak to the Admission Counsellors for waiver information.
Become eligible to gain direct entry into relevant Master’s degree programme
Completion of your qualification will meet the University standard academic entry requirements. However, each applicant will be subject to individual assessment and other entry requirements which may affect university entry.
As our OTHM accredited qualifications are approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) and Qualifications Wales, learners are also eligible to progress to a top-up degree, master’s programme, or MBA at many universities in UK and overseas with advanced standing.
Progress to a Higher Qualification
Postgraduate diplomas are taught courses at level 7 on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) – the same level as Masters degrees. However, they are shorter (120 credits) and learners will have to proceed to the dissertation stage (60 credits) with university to achieve a full Masters or MBA.

What is the Entry Requirement?
For entry onto the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management qualification, learners must possess:
- Relevant NQF/QCF/RQF Level 5 diploma or equivalent recognised qualification
- Learner must be 18 years or older at the beginning of the course
Education exemption for Mature learners (over 21) with Managerial Experience (learners should contact the Admission Counsellors at LSBR and submit their Personal Statement, current Resume/CV and Experience Certificate in lieu of education requirements)
The qualification is offered in English.

The Level 6 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management qualification consists of 6 mandatory units for a combined total of 120 credits:

- Managing Quality in Health and Social Care Settings (20 credits)
- Principles of Leadership and Management (20 credits)

What is Level 6 qualification Equivalent to?
This qualifications at RQF Level 6 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to:
- Bachelor’s Degrees with Honours,
- Bachelor’s Degrees,
- Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE),
- Graduate Diplomas and Graduate Certificates.
Is the Course Accredited?
The programme is accredited by OTHM, UK – an Awarding body by the UK Government’s regulator – OfQual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation)
How is the Assessment done?
- The assessment is done via submission of assignment.
- There are no written exams.
