Working Professionals, Level 4 Diploma holders, learners who are looking for Career Progression and a formal undergraduate qualification leading to award of degrees in future.
The qualification is ideal for those who have started, or are planning to move into, a career in private or public sector business. Upon successful completion of the programme, you will become eligible to gain direct entry into Final Year of a Three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme or directly into employment.
Open Entry. No formal qualification is required from mature learners (over 21 years) who have relevant management experience. For others, the learners should have relevant NQF / QCF / RQF Level 3 Award / Diploma or at the level of GCE / GCSE or equivalent qualification. Progress to: Final Year of a Three-year UK Bachelor’s degree
Completion of your qualification will meet the University standard academic entry requirements. However, each applicant will be subject to individual assessment and other entry requirements which may affect university entry.
As our OTHM accredited qualifications are approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) and Qualifications Wales, learners are also eligible to progress to a top-up degree, master’s programme, or MBA at many universities in UK and overseas with advanced standing.

What is the Entry Requirement for fast track Level 5 Diploma in Information Technology?
For entry onto the Othm Level 5 Diploma in Information Technology fast track qualification, learners must possess:
- Relevant NQF/QCF/RQF Level 4 Award/Diploma or equivalent qualification
- Learner must be 18 years or older at the beginning of the course
- No formal qualification is required from Mature learners who are over 21 years of age and having management experience
The qualification is offered in English.

What are the Course Modules?
The Level 5 Diploma in Information Technology qualification consists of 6 mandatory units for a combined total of 120 credits:

- Database Systems (20 credits)
- Advanced Systems Analysis and Design (20 credits)
- Management Information Systems (20 credits)
- Network Information Systems (20 credits)

OTHM qualifications at RQF Level 5 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to:
- Foundation Degrees,
- Higher National Diploma (HND) and
- Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree.
